What options are available for the Fire Starter Keychains?

Ferro rod + scraper OR Ferro rod + folding blade (which acts as a scraper when it’s folded closed)

How do the Ceramic Scraper and Mini Ceramic Folder differ in functionality?

The Mini Ceramic Folder can be used as a ferro rod scraper while folded closed and can also be opened to reveal a razor sharp cutting edge perfect for cutting fishing line, fabric, and cordage. The Ceramic Scraper is best used only for sparking the ferro rod.

Are the Fire Starter Keychains resistant to rust and dulling?

Yes! Ceramic will not rust and the material is so hard that it is resistant to dulling. Its hardness does however make it brittle so any sort of prying or twisting of the blade will cause it to chip or break.

How does the waterproof ferro rod work, and what makes it unique?

Simply shake off the excess water and it’s good to go! We use a custom mix of ferrocerium that is softer than most of the ferro rods on the market. This allows our ferro rods to throw larger, longer-lasting sparks, making it easier to get your fire started.

How do I use the scraper on the Mini Ceramic Folder?

Leave it in the folded, closed position and use the small exposed section of the spine to scrape the ferro rod.
